I notice how places work
I work in architecture and construction, so I tend to notice the buildings, streets and small decisions that shape everyday life in Tokyo.
PRIVATE LOCAL & CULTURAL SUPPORT · TOKYO
Tell me about a place you want to visit, something you want to try or even an idea you have not fully shaped yet. I’ll take it seriously, look into what it may involve and—if it feels like a good fit—join you.
No packaged route. No pressure to perform. Available in English and Spanish.
HOW WE BEGIN
Your curiosity. Your pace.
We begin with what has caught your attention, then think through what a good experience might look like.
PERHAPS THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR
You do not need a complete plan. This private local support is for solo travelers, couples and small groups who want to understand Tokyo at a quieter, more personal pace.
01“There’s a tiny bar I want to visit, but I’m not sure how it works.”
02“I’d like to explore a normal Tokyo neighborhood, not another famous attraction.”
03“I’m traveling alone. I don’t need a tour, but some company would be nice.”
04“I found a place online, but it looks very local and I’m not sure I should go alone.”
WHY RIO
I am not presenting myself as the person who knows all of Tokyo. What I can offer is a careful eye, lived context and a willingness to think seriously with you about what you hope to do.
I work in architecture and construction, so I tend to notice the buildings, streets and small decisions that shape everyday life in Tokyo.
I speak English and Spanish and have worked across different cultures. I can help explain not only what someone said, but what may be happening around it.
You do not have to hand me a finished plan. Bring a wish, a question or something you found, and I’ll consider what it might take and how I may be able to help.
We don’t have to keep talking or turn every moment into entertainment. And if I don’t know something, I’ll research it or tell you honestly rather than pretend.
“I won’t pretend to know everything about Tokyo. But I’ll listen carefully, look into what matters to you, and tell you honestly what I can and cannot do.”
WAYS WE MIGHT SPEND THE TIME
These are examples, not packages. You can bring a specific place or simply say, “I’d like to do something like this.” I’ll take the idea seriously, think it through with you and respond honestly about how I may be able to help.
Walk through places such as Asagaya, Koenji or Nishi-Ogikubo, paying attention to everyday shops, homes and the way a neighborhood moves.
Bring a link from Instagram, Google Maps, YouTube or a magazine. We can look into what visiting it actually involves.
Visit a small restaurant, kissaten, izakaya, bar or live house together. Entry and reservations can never be guaranteed.
Look at alleys, homes, shopping streets, old buildings and redevelopment—and talk about the choices behind what we see.
Talk about work, family, manga, architecture, neighborhood culture or ordinary life in Tokyo, from one person’s perspective.
HOW IT WORKS
Send a place, link, wish or question, along with your approximate dates. It does not need to be a finished itinerary.
I consider what the idea may involve, including access, timing, venue rules and whether I am the right person to help.
If it feels like a fit, we clarify the place, pace, direct costs and any practical details before confirming anything.
We meet in a public place and spend the agreed time together. Quiet moments and changes of pace are welcome.
Sending a request does not confirm a booking. Rio personally reviews each request and availability is limited.
PILOT PRICING
You cover the direct costs of the outing, including any transport, admission or food expenses required for Rio to join you. Afterward, you can leave a tip based on what the time was worth to you.
Transport, admission, tickets and any food or drink Rio needs in order to join are agreed in advance and normally paid directly by you on the day.
A tip is your choice after the outing. It can be paid online or in cash. This is not advertised as a free tour, and direct costs are separate from any tip.
CLEAR BOUNDARIES
This is local companionship and cultural support for travelers in public places. Clear boundaries help everyone feel comfortable.
This is a local companionship and cultural support service. It is not a dating, escort, nightlife hosting, medical, legal or emergency service.

Architecture, design and the everyday city.
ABOUT RIO
Hi, I’m Rio. I live in Tokyo and work in architecture, design and construction.
I’ve also worked on international projects, including projects connected with Panama, and I communicate in English and Spanish.
What interests me most about Tokyo is not only its famous places, but the way people actually live: small shops, old streets, unusual buildings, neighborhood routines and the stories inside ordinary places.
I’m not the kind of guide who performs nonstop or recites hundreds of facts. I’m better at listening, noticing things and having a real conversation.
If there is somewhere in Tokyo you want to visit but would rather not go alone, tell me about it.
QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PLAINLY
Not usually. There is no fixed itinerary. The outing starts with somewhere you want to go or something you want to experience.
I provide local accompaniment and cultural support rather than presenting this as a formal licensed guide service. If your request requires a specifically licensed professional, please say so.
There is no fixed service fee during the pilot. You cover the direct costs required for me to join, and afterward you may leave an optional tip based on the value of the time.
We normally begin with your interest. I can help clarify a vague idea, but this is not a free full-service custom itinerary planning service.
You normally book and pay directly. I may help you understand a booking page or find the right information, but I do not act as a travel or ticket agent.
Yes, though the service is designed mainly for one person, couples and small groups. Groups of five or more, long outings and preparation-heavy requests need separate consideration.
Yes. It is especially suited to solo travelers who have somewhere they want to visit, would value calm local company or want help understanding how a place works without joining a conventional group tour.
Yes. Requests and outings can be handled in Spanish or English. You can choose your preferred language in the request form.
A restaurant or bar can be part of the outing when it is safe. I do not provide heavy-drinking entertainment, hosting, sexual services or access to dangerous nightlife.
We can meet in a public area such as the lobby. I do not enter guest rooms or other private spaces.
Please let me know as early as you can. If non-refundable tickets or other direct costs have already been agreed and purchased, you remain responsible for those costs.
SHARE YOUR IDEA
Keep it simple. A place, a link, a question or an unfinished idea is enough. I’ll consider it carefully and ask for details later if I may be able to help.
